Collection: August 2023 Tabletalk

The August 2023 issue of Tabletalk will feature articles on the theme of trials, temptations, and the testing of faith. The testing of faith through trials and through temptations to sin is frequently addressed by Scripture, both in direct teaching and by historical accounts of individuals and communities who endured great moments of testing. Generations of Christians have recognized this, leading to much reflection in church history on trials, temptations, and the testing of faith. Many modern Christians, however, have come to expect the Christian life to be relatively easy, and they are often unprepared when their faith is tested. This issue of Tabletalk will provide a comprehensive overview of the Bible’s teaching on trials, temptations, and the testing of faith, seeking to help prepare readers for the difficulties to come and to encourage those who are presently walking through hard times and the many challenges they must face.
