The July 2023 issue of Tabletalk will provide a multifaceted definition of Christian discipleship. The call to be a disciple of Christ is one of the foundational aspects of the Christian faith, and the Scriptures provide much instruction on what it means to be a disciple and the qualities that characterize true disciples of Jesus. In an era when many people claim to follow Jesus but actual biblical discipleship is frequently hard to find, believers must have an accurate understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. This issue of Tabletalk will cover Scripture’s key teaching on the identity of Christian disciples, focusing particularly on the various ways that God’s Word describes the qualities of those who follow Jesus and reminding us that the foundational reality of who we are in Christ remains true even when it does not seem to match our lived experience.
