Collection: November 2021 Tabletalk

The November 2021 issue of Tabletalk will provide an overview of the kingdom of God. As the central theme of the preaching of Jesus, the kingdom of God is a vital topic for faithful Christian living and witness. However, there is much confusion regarding the kingdom of God. In Christian history, the kingdom of God has been defined in various ways. Some professing believers have looked to the secular authorities to usher in the kingdom, whether through the violence of the Crusades or through social programs. Some churches have overemphasized God’s kingdom as a present reality while others have seen it as something that is entirely future. To help readers cut through this confusion, this issue will look at the biblical teaching on the kingdom of God, which consists of His ruling over His willing subjects in a particular place and through His chosen king. This kingdom, which is to be distinguished from our Creator’s sovereign rule over all things, has already come in Christ Jesus, who inaugurated it in His earthly ministry, but it will not yet come in all its fullness until Jesus returns.
