The October 2026 issue of Tabletalk will explore the relationship between faith and work. Because work occupies so much of ordinary human life, Christians need a distinctly biblical understanding of its meaning, dignity, frustrations, and responsibilities. Scripture teaches that work is not merely a necessary burden of life in a fallen world but part of God’s good design for humanity from the beginning. At the same time, the fall has profoundly affected our labor, introducing futility, injustice, temptation, and weariness into every vocation. Yet even in a fallen world, God calls His people to serve Him faithfully in their various stations, offering their daily labor as worship to Him and seeking to honor Christ in the midst of ordinary responsibilities. This issue of Tabletalk will help readers think more clearly about vocation, labor, rest, integrity, and witness so that they may approach their work with greater wisdom, faithfulness, and hope.
